I really missed everything in virtual world especially MY TOWN SHOOT OUT and so nice virtual friends. I just realized I already missed the previous two photo assignments. There are some reasons why I was inactive in blogging world. I was disappointed plus depressed plus inspired plus lazy plus blocked. I was not able to multiply my time with my family, God and friends. I was not able to meet them occasionally, not at all. My time was divided between my work and someone else called love. For now, I don't know the difference. But to sum up with, my life is complicated.
At first, what I understand about the photo theme was somewhat like this. The simple look up and look down.
I took this photo of my friend during our nature trip in Guimaras' Tatalong Pulo.
The photo below were taken still in Guimaras during island hopping. They are my high school friends, Emely and Robelyn enjoying turtle-watching.
I even asked myself what to choose...
to climb on the rock formation up or to jump on the sea down.
But before I decided what to do, I asked myself again. Do I know how to climb without the climbing gadgets and do I know how to swim? The answer is NO. So I remain sitting on the cliff and just watch the beautiful view above and below. I felt contented.
I used to look down most of the time. That's why, I love little but beautiful things on the ground. I don't want to rule or to be superior or whatsoever. But in real life, it is easy to mingle with people with the same or below my level. It is interesting to discover unusual things. It's exciting. There is a mystery, there is a thrill. Looking down the snail made me stop and observe its movements until it came out from its shell. It's like me :-)
I can't elude to look up and appreciate the beautiful moon especially in the dark night. We usually notice the full moon. It steal our attention. You get the feeling of peace then. It makes us to dream and reach it. In real life, I do adore popular people. You can easily recognize them. You are updated everything about them because they are public figures.
There's someone like a moon. I call the person Moon. Everything about the moon is almost perfect. The moon is working hard, working from one company to the other every week and studying on Thursday and seldom got the dayoff. The moon is doing it almost 7 years now. A family-oriented moon and don't have time for love. The moon is decent even the pleasant appearance. All of the sudden the moon got my attention. Ambilis! It focused on me that I never expected it. Everything I know changed and it diverted to me. Now I am afraid that the things will totally change from its main purpose. I don't want to be like the sun and totally cover the moon and there will be a total eclipse occur. I am thinking about the moon's job. I care about it's existence to the world (the moon's world includes, family, work and studies. I am not selfish just to have that happiness. The fact is I like but I am not ready to fall in love again. Now I am hiding in the dark to avoid being caught up with its brightness. I still don't know how to say and explain.)
There is more interesting than this story. Just follow me to see others' photo sharing about look up and look down---> FSO. Thanks Sara Lulu for the great idea. We missed you and your photos.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. I loved all of your photos and your analogies and metaphors. You are a great philosopher and a deep thinker. I like that about you.
I'll be like you too, won't jump , won't climb, just walk around taking shots of that beautiful ocean. Even though that turquoise water is calling my name!
This is quite an amazing post! It's metaphors and allusions back to your life makes it come alive on so many beautiful levels in so many mysterious ways. The words and photos dance together to a music of love. Quite moving and well done! Bravo.
The waterfall and the water hole photos are great. I was at one last week, and the crazy australians were jumping so dangerously down to the water.
Such a pretty place, love the people looking over the railing!
i miss you red!!! :P
Gorgeous views!!!
I love your 'tropical' paradise, and also understand the balance of life is hard to deal with sometimes; it does work out, maybe not the way we wish, but we should walk away with some kind of lesson no matter what that makes us all the better down the road!
What was that creature in the shell? I took a lovely shell I pick up off the beach home once, put it on my desk at work, could swear nothing was inside, but then when I returned after the weekend, the creature was lifeless hanging out of the shell. I was so sad over that, I will never remove something from its natural world again, not even a rock!
You are so creative Redlan, we would get along so well now and even in person!
I have a feeling you have a big heart too :)
A thoughtful, self-searching post here. I'm glad you didn't jump or climb: both much too dangerous! The snail, on the other hand, proceeds carefully seeming to look both ways; that's more like it. Glad to have you back.
The pictures of the rock and cregs are stunning. What a wonderful photographer you are. Blessings

for someone feeling blocked you wrote an amazing post. the metaphor of sitting on a cliff is very aprapos to so many time in our lives. will be watching to see how you resolve this.
Redlan your shots were great, and your commentary was terrific. What more could we ask? Great job.
I'm not sure which I liked best, your commentary or your photos (oh, alright it was your photos, but it was close).
