SIPAG AT TIYAGA (HARD WORK & DETERMINATION)

While waiting the computer to download its tools and application (or whatever you call it. I am not a computer expert.), my eyes were stuck to the 8 x 12 inches photo frame hanging on the wall. It was a photo of a woman DIGGING SEASHELSS IN THE BUAGSONG SEASHORE. The photo is memorable to me. It shows the “Sipag at Tiyaga” (Hard work and Determination) attitude. It’s actually a reward/gift to me because of that attitude I mentioned earlier. I remember the giver every time I see that autographed photo (dapat may pirma mo ha). REMEMBERING THE STORYTELLER/blogger/photographer/the kapatid will remain forever.

I am a nature lover & observer since I had a filmed camera. Last year I bought a digital camera but I still don't know how to use it right and apply the proper way in order to capture the beautiful place, people and moment. I don't have and never read any photography book. Nooks and Crannies gave me a chance to have Susan McCartney's book that would help me improve my passion in photography. It will guide me to have unique travel photos, explore all the angles, exposure and metering, seeing and using lights. It is useful guide for my scarp photo albums. Most of all, I aimed to be a professional photographer like Susan McCartney and Mark.

This post is an inspiration of knowing a nice blogger, a photographer, a great person named Mark; an appreciation for his good works both in photography and advocacy; and an ambition to have the book about “HOW TO SHOOT GREAT TRAVEL PHOTOS”.

You can join the blog contest too. Just check the mechanics HERE.

Ako din, I love photography. Whenever I see beautifully captured moments, nawawala yung pagod ko. Kaya nga dream ko magkaroon ng DSLR cam. Napakaganda nung 1st photo. I can feel the drama.

P.S., I missed your blog. hehe

Sipag + Tiyaga. One needs these as well in photography. Kahit nga point and shoot lang dala mo, basta masipag ka sa composition at matiyaga sa paghintay ng pagkakataon, makukuha mo rin yung shots na masasabi mong original.

Hi Red,

A few more days to go and the contest will end. Let me take the time to remind you of some pertinent rules and scoring guidelines…

1. Answers to the quiz can be changed before the deadline. The last set of answers submitted before the deadline will be the considered as the final answers.
2. No editing or changes are to be done on the blog entries after the deadline. They will be copied and will be sent to the judges.
3. The winner and other special prizes will be announced a week thereafter.
4. Each correct answer to the quiz is 10 points, a total of 100 points if one answered them all correctly. This will comprise 40% of the total accumulated points.
5. The number of comments in the blog entry will be taken into account. 30% of the number of comments will also comprise 30% of the total accumulated points. (Comments after midnight of July 18 will not be counted.)
6. The remaining 30% for the accumulated points will come from special judges that will be identified to score the different blog entries according to a specified criteria:

Originality and Creativity – 30%
Style and form – 30%
Content (use of arguments why the author needs to win) – 20%
Judge’s impression – 20%

Let me also remind you to select a picture in my blog as a souvenir for partcipating in this contest. Also, please send me your full mailing address.
