Contestant: Rice?
It's according to Imee who told me the whole story about last night's local beauty contest. She happened to be one of the judges.
The rice shortage in the Philippines is the latest talk not only here but outside the country. I don't feel any pressure right now(laughs)though. No, seriously, I am not yet worried. Here in my region I don't feel or notice any problem bout it as of now. I can still order an extra rice. There's the restaurant serving unlimited rice and some eat-all-you-can local food chains and even in some hotels. This is just an issue-switching. The issue that some rice producers ride on. The problem is rice price increased! Somehow, we are aware that rice fields become subdivisions now.
Rice is the country's staple food. According to what I heard in the news this morning, President GMA suggested to eat sweet potato as a substitute to rice(during her visit in dumaguete). Greta, is that you?

Indi lang man sa pinas may problem nga amo na Red, pati na sa world's main producers like thailand, india, and bangladesh.... Ang indi ko lang mapatihan nga ang solution ni gloria sa problema is to eat kamote instead of rice....! Daw sa wala sila plano nga solbaron ang problem in other ways... Pala-utot na kita tanan sini sa pilipinas....?!
