Yesterday, I went to Sta. Barbara, 16 kms. North of Iloilo city proper to attend the wedding ceremony of my officemate-friend, ETA. I arrived early @ 8:18 am. The ceremony will start @ 9 am. So, I had time to roam around the church.
According to Philippine history the Neo-classical church where Gen. Delgado convened the junta that raised the first cry of revolution against Spain; made of red brick and coral stones. It was built in 1849 and was completed in 1855. Its churchyard that time was packed with Filipino soldiers, armed with bolos and eager to fight for freedom.
