Guimaras Island is known as the "Mango Country". The province's mango orchards produce the best mango variety certified as pest-free by the United States Department of Agriculture. The fastest route to the province is by means of a pump boat which is about 10-15 minutes ride from Iloilo City.
There are two route to reach the Balaan Bukid(holy mountain). It is either from Ortiz wharf(Iloilo City) to Jordan wharf or from Ortiz directly to the "foot" of Balaan bukid as a shortcut. I preferred the former because it will be Imee's(my companion) first visit and the way from Jordan to Balaan Bukid is not difficult and not really rough. From Guimaras wharf we rode a tricycle for a 15 minute trip to the "foot" of Balaan Bukid.
Now, join us to hike for more than 30 mins. Until we reach a breathtaking view at the top.

According to Imee, it was a fulfilled journey. We went down in the other way with the hope to come back again next holy week.
