LOG AND MULTIPLY

Multiply was created in 2003. It was a net working site for just online dating. However, Peter Pezaris, the president and one of the founders of multiply, Inc. along with David Hersch, Michael Gersh and James Pryce, had a better idea to develop the social network. They were simply just looking for a better way to share media- photos, video, blog entries so they took the concept of a social network and combined it with media-sharing tools. That’s the time I discovered Multiply and using it until now. In multiply wherein I found some celebrity accounts.

If you are one of the Multiply members, have you noticed its new look? It has Philippine version now. Pezaris & Hersch were in Manila these last few months to launch Multiply, a spin-off of the site targeted to Filipinos. The Multiply president said that 2.2 million of Multiply’s users come from the Philippines. Half of the two million photos uploaded to the site everyday are from Filipinos who generate 335 million page views a month. That’s why they want to better address our needs so they came up with the Philippine version. They just announced they partnership with ABS-CBN in order to better meet the needs of the users. They might be coming up with a Filipino’s translation of the page later this year.
