Today is my 4th month of blogging. Time runs so fast. And everytime I celebrate my blog monthsary, I changed my header. So this is it!


I really like what Mrs. T said about my blog:

Redlan's Web of Arts - the first blog I visit everyday! I like the way he presents his stories in his posts; they are very inspiring and very down-to-earth. He has a way of presenting things so simply yet the impact is so deep! He uses symbolism, which I really find so interesting, never boring!

Thank you so much Mrs. T! I never tired saying it.

TAOS-PUSONG PASASALAMAT

Kapag pinakita ko ang aking sariling kakakyahan hindi dahil gusto ko na purihin. Hindi naman ako actually magaling. Gusto ko lang naman i-share kung ano meron ako na gaya ng uniqueness nyo. At kung inaalay ko ito sa iba hindi dahil gusto ko ng atensiyon pero gusto ko na somehow maging masaya naman siya sa atensiyon na binigay ko. It’s the way I show my appreciation sa kindness na ginawa nyo sa akin in the first place. It inspired me to do it as my appreciation to someone's kindness & good deeds. And when I give something, I never expect anything in return. Usually I do it in return to his' thoughtfulness. Happy ako na gawin yun lalo na kapag nasisiyahan ang binibigyan ko. Meaning, naappreciate ang ginawa ko kahit na maliit ito at sa simple lang na pamamaraan. Reward na yun para sa akin.

Alam ko naman kung nasisiyahan ang binibigyan ko. Tulad na lamang ni Princess Jackie. I can imagine how happy she was kasi she even posted it sa blog niya. Thanks for the acknowledgement Princess! Ganun rin si Mrs. T. Naka-register na ang kanyang flashing smile sa memorya ko kaya naaninag ko. She even sent me IM. I wondered where or from whom she got my YM ID. Maybe kay Roselle na unang nag-ask sa akin personally ng ID ko. Hindi ako usually nagsa-chat pero I signed in to check it. Yun, I addedMrs. T in my contacts & I read her offline message for me. Nagpasalamat siya sa ginawa kong drawing para sa kanya. She asked my mobile number kung okay lang sa akin. Hindi ko binigay to think na tatawagan niya ako. Nahihiya kasi ako. Another level na yun. Baka umabot sa puntong hindi ko mapantayan ang gagawin niya. Ako kasi pag mabuti ang ginagawa mo sa akin, kakayanin kong maibalik rin yan sa’yo. Noon nga kapag may masamang ginawa sa akin ang isang tao, ganun rin ang binabalik ko sa kanya. Revenge yun! Pero I realized base sa aking experiences na hindi pala tama. Napatunayan ko mismo sa aking sarili. Kapag may galit ka sa isang tao, hindi ka maging masaya at makapag move on. I learned to let go and avoid people like them. At naniwala ako sa KARMA. Pati ako kinarma sa ginawa ko. Kasi kung ano man ang ginawa mo, mabuti o masama ay doble ang babalik sa’yo.

Back to Mrs. T, nagchat kami sandali and she confirmed kung hindi ko ba talaga ibigay ang number ko. She promised not to call. (Pasensiya over acting si Red.) Na-konsensiya rin ako dahil mabuti naman siyang tao. Mrs. T just added me on his chikka contacts and sent me a testing message. (Yan kasi over react ako.) She told me na kapag may matanggap akong message sa phone ko, sa chat window na lang ako magreply para di magastos. At nag-say goodbye na kami sa isa’t isa. I resumed working na and then I received a sms message. It was a SMARTLOAD! I wondered who loaded me hindi naman ako nagpa-load. I thought na wrong send yun pero sumunod ang confirmation message from 350. Sumunod ang text message from chikka: “may very simple way of saying ‘MARAMING SALAMAT’. Sensiya na konti lang yan.” Actually sobra talaga! Overjoyed ako. I even showed it to my friends. Pinagmalaki ko yun hindi dahil sa nakatanggap ako ng extra load pero in the sense na may nagpadala sa akin.

To Mrs. T, thank you not for the value of money you sent but for the kindness and your own unique way of doing it. I really appreciate your effort. Pero tulad ng sinabi ko sa’yo, I’m not comfortable to receive anything in the form of money. Basta happy lang tayo palagi, yun ang mas okay. GOD BLESS YOU MORE AND GOOD HEALTH!

Lastly, I want to grab this opportunity to thank Pepe, too. May mga oras na pumasok pa rin sa utak ko ang ginawa niya sa akin. It gave me a great feeling at na-appreciate ko talaga. Yung time na he defended me in a situation not because I am one of his regular online blog friends but in the way na nakikita niya that the situation was not a big deal for me to have that kind of treatment. I really appreciate it.

Minsan sa buhay natin ay may mga insidente na tayo ay nasasaktan. Ito man ay physical o emotional.

Kahapon sa di inaasahan na pangyayari, bumagsak ang folding bed sa sahig at ang dulo nito ay tumama sa aking kanang binti. May pinaabot kasi ang ate ko at hindi sinadyng ma-push niya ang folding bed. Wrong timing because it was the moment I handed her that something. ( I don't want to mention, it's a gurl thing kasi.) Pero lumipas rin ang lahat lalo na ang pagkainis ko sa pangyayari.

Naalaala ko tuloy ang pangyayari na ako'y emosyonal na nasaktan. Sabi nila, madali ang magpatawad pero mahirap kalimutan. Tama nga! Noon tinawanan ko ang mga touching na eksena sa TV o sa movie. Sa mga crying moments, ako's tumatawa...yung time na tinawanan ko ang officemate ko dahil siya ay nagkamali. Sa time na yun napatunayan kong totoong kaibigan si Marigold dahil sinabi niya sa akin na masamang ugali yun at hindi niya nagustuhan. It was a friendly concern something that I learned from her and from that experience.

Natutunan ko na kapag ang isang tao ay hindi nakaranas ng sakit sa damdamin at kabiguan sa buhay ay hindi maka-relate sa kanyang kapwa na nasasaktan. After nakaranas ako ng sakit sa emosyon, everytime na makakita ako ng taong feeling sad at umiiyak, nadadala rin ako pero ito ay hindi ko pinakita. Tinatago ko naman palagi ang kirot sa aking kalooban and I just prefer na maging tahimik na lamang.

Noong mga sandaling nasaktan ako ay hindi ako umiyak. Masakit talaga tulad ng nararamdaman kong kirot dulot ng pagkahiwa sa balat. Tulad ng sugat ko, hihilom din itong sakit emosyonal na naramdaman ko sa tuwing maalala ko yun. Pero ito rin ang magpaalaala sa akin na maging maingat para hindi na muling masaktan.

Blog announcement: The Vegan Prince is taking a break

I wondered why Mark was not able to update his blog since September 22 till today. My question answered when he sent me a sms message this morning. He have a personal personally. And he wanted his readers and fans to know that he is on a blog leave these days. "I feel the need to take a break from blogging for a while to recuperate." (the line I quoted from his sms message).

I don't want to elaborate more. It's his personal life. Nakakalungkot pero everything has its purpose. I hope you'll recover soon Mark. We will miss you just for awhile. Please come back in the blog world soon!

The Revelation: My Buddy

As I remember it was last year, rainy season nang una kong manotice si Buddy. Nasa Department Store ako noon nagmo-malling kasi umuulan sa labas. Na-attract ako sa kanya . And without any hesitation, pinili ko siya agad at baka makuha pa siya ng iba. Umulan man at umaraw magkasama kami. In good times or in bad times, ika nga. Talagang napakasupportive niya sa akin at inaalagaan ko naman siya in return. Kung lumabas kami , siya ang nagki-care sa akin. Kapag nasa indoor lang kami, ako naman ang naka-care sa kanya. Kapag mainit ang panahon, hindi niya gusto na ako'y mapawisan o mainitan man lang at kapag umuulan naman, ako naman ang nagpapatuyo sa kanya. Noong isang araw iniwan ko siya sa labas dahil siya ay basa at hindi siya pwede pumasok sa mall.

Pero minsan ay hindi ko talaga gusto na isama siya sa aking mga lakad especially kapag ordinary days lang naman. Aminin ko in those times, I feel hindi ko naman siya kailangan. Kung kailangan ko naman siya, siya ay nandiyan lang para sa akin. Maaasahan talaga siya. "Umula't bumagyo, ayos lang"(kanta ng APO). Tulad ngayon, nalimutan ko naman ang aking payong dahil maganda na ang panahon.

Breaking News: The Vegan Prince' shirt

I'm so excited that I grabbed this photos from Mark's domain with his permission of course. This is the personalized shirt which I won in his birthday contest. I am more excited to have it.

It's stretchable daw. The color is actually army green. This is the great launching of his upcoming clothing line. Who wants to order? With the picture posted below, you know where to order then.

The three of us will be the first one to own the shirt from his clothing line to be launched soon.

On September 6, 2007, the post of Mark Xander "The Vegan Prince" Fabillar caught my attention. It was entitled "Win a present from me!". It was a contest he decided to run for his 24th birthday as his way of showing appreciation to his blogmates and fans. I am one of his myriad fans! I am his blog follower since last year. I discovered his blog after he won Hari ng Negros 2006. He is the one who inspired me to create my own blog here in blogspot. From a title holder, he become a vegan and tomorrow a non-smoker guy. Back to the contest, the question was here.

Dahil naging memorable sa akin ang unang pagpunta ko sa lungsod, nagdesisyon ang aking ate ng dito na ako magpatuloy ng pag-aral sa high school. Iniwan ko ang aking kamusmusan sa probinsya at ako ay naging city boy na. Sa unang taon ko sa high school marami akong modernong natutunan. Hindi lang sa paaralan kung hindi sa TV programs at musika. Naalaala ko pa ang kanta ni Marco Sison na tungkol sa tatlong babae na sina Aida o si Lorna o si Fe (kung sino ang pipiliin nya). Medyo kaluman na yon na sa aking teenager na kapanahonan kaya hindi nagustuhan. Sa aking kapanahonan ay nilunsad ang Gwapings na sina Mark Anthony Fernandez, Jomari Ylllana at Eric Fructuoso. Hindi ko yun nalimutan kasi naging Gwapings rin kami ng tatlo kong kaibigan. Uso noon ang trio. At sa pagtira ko sa lungsod ay na-notice ko na tatlo pala ang elisi ng electric fan at tatlo ang kamay ng orasan para sa segundo, minuto at oras. Wala kasi yun sa amin sa probinsya noon. Ang buhay ko dito sa city ay umiikot sa eskwelahan at bahay. Leksyon at TV kaya nakahiligan ko ang buhay ng mga artista. Naging uso ang Love triangle sa kapanahonan ni Judy Ann. Ang unang nakalove-triangle niya ay si Rico Yan at Wowie de Guzman. Siya ang kauna unahang nagpauso ng love-triangle( ito ay sabi ng aking kaibigan na ang idolo ay si Judai). Ngayon ay usong-uso ang 3rd party at threesome. Una ko itong nalaman sa internet o chat pero I did not dare to do. Kababoyan yun para sa akin. Sorry. At naging uso ang trio inspired by the DREAMGIRLS- the movie(composed of 3 female singers) at ang TATSULOK(may tatlong dulo) ng BAMBOO.

Siguro naman may idea kayo kung ano ang post na to. Ito ang promise ko na magpost ng tungkol sa tatlo dahil 3rd month of blogging ko.

some books of KINDNESS

I guess, my kikay friend Imee surprised to see a shades of green paper bag on her chair yesterday morning. She was not in the office yet that's why I just put it there and I went out to have a fiesta lunch. When we arrived back in the office, I welcomed with her happy smile. I made a personalized paper bag for her with my signature that's why.

What made her smile more was the thing inside it. It's BOB ONG's STAINLESS LONGGANISA- his fifth book. Imee is so kind to share the books of Bob Ong to me when she bought the latest book entitled MAC ART HUR. Aside from that, she lemme borrowed the other books of Bob Ong. She don't have the STAINLESS LONGGANISA in her collection so I promised to buy it for her of there's already a stock @ NBS.

She wanted me to put a note. "IMEE KANA: This is what I've promised for your kindness. Thanks!

Later in the afternoon, I saw two books on the box beside my table. Just looking them I know who is the owner of those books- Margie! She really admired Princess DI and Rico Yan! Last week, I asked her if I can borrow her royalty books or magazines for my upcoming post.

A kind of drum is now a place called GUIMBAL

Today is the annual town fiesta of GUIMBAL, ILOILO. The town's patron saint is St. Nicholas of Tolentino.

Guimbal is a 4th class municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 27,707 people in 5,310 households.

A closer fact compared to some other writings is that the name of the town was derived from a musical instrument called Guimbal, sometimes called by other researchers as gimba. The guimbal was one of the ancient musical instruments of the Spanish Panayanos. It is described as a drum usually thirty centimeters high and twenty centimeters in diameters, made from a hollowed trunk of a palm tree, cut and covered with either goat or deer skin. The guimbal or gimba as its variation, sometimes also spelled gimbal is confirmed as an ancient Malay instrument.

The Spaniards discovered the settlers using the instrument to warn the people of the coming of the raiding Moro pirates who used to loot the town and capture its natives to be sold as slaves in Kolambogan, Mindanao. As an expression of gratitude to the instrument, with high spirit and pride as the unconquered people of the settlement, the inhabitants named their settlement Guimbal.

We had lunch in my officamate's residence, 45 mins. to 1 hour travel from the city. I took this pic outside their gate which is located on the mountain top before the guimbal steel bridge.

Guimbal Steel Bridge - Constructed during the American period. The construction was ordered by US President Roosevelt. It is approximately 0.350 kilometers long and made of Pittsburgh Steel, which were imported from Virginia, USA. It is the longest steel bridge in Western Visayas.

As we passed by the town plaza on our way back to the city, I immediately took this pic for a chance. The Guimbal Plaza is known for its cleanliness and beauty.

4th visit @ Trappist Monastery

Last night we attended Chat's birthday home celebration. Same group of high school friends around here. Present si Harry who seldom join us kasi most of the times he rejected our invitation kasi may conflict sa work sked niya. He was automatically chairman of the talk in the absence of Robelyn. Sarap balikan ang high school days. We just laughed sa mga kalokohan namin noong high school. Na-miss namin tuloy the rest of our classmates, asking where they are right now. We left at around 10:45 pm.

Kaninang hapon, I decided to visit Trappist Monastery again for this month as I've promised.


Dahil passed 1 pm na, hindi ko naabutan ang prayer time ng mga monks @ 11:30 am and 12:30 pm. Pumasok na lang ako mag-isa sa loob ng chapel at nagsilent pray. Walang tao kaya naisipan ko na magtake pic. Ito ang altar sa loob. Malinis at tahimik. Pero hindi pwede makalapit sa altar kasi pinagbawalan.

Nag-picture trip ako kahit mag-isa. After the visit, nagdropped by ako sa workplace ng college friend ko at sabay na kaming umuwi.

MOTHER AND CHILD

A mother (definition from Wikipedia) is the natural or social female parent of an offspring. The mother gestates her child, which is called first an embryo, and then a fetus. This gestation occurs in the mother's womb from conception until the fetus is sufficiently developed to be born. The mother then goes into labor and gives birth. Once the child is born, the mother produces milk, a process called lactation, to feed the child.

Althea was our high school varsity volleyball player and one of the honor students. She is a RN and recently workin in Kuwait. Her cute son is Kurt Daniel.

A mother conceives her child for more or less nine months in her womb, expecting all the time to give birth to a beautiful baby. This is the most sensational period in the life of a woman, wherefrom she derive all the strength to sustain the pain at the time of birth and handle the post birth responsibilities as a mother. " Birth is a pleasant punishment which only women bear ”, as the saying goes.

Spending more time with the newborn naturally strengthens the link between the mother and the child, breast feeding is another healthy practice which provides natural connection.

Belinda was one of my buddies in high school. She always a teachers' choice to join beauty pageants but they're sorry because she's not into it. She is currently working in Manila. Julia is the name of her beautiful lil girl.

Mothers face many challenges in today’s world and it is not very easy to be a mother, especially for working women. Mothers have to play different roles in their daily lives. Thanks to God who has embedded extreme love in the heart of a mother for her baby, without that it would not have been possible for a mother to raise her kids. Whatever difficulties may come across by a mother in taking care of her children, are faced passionately just because of that God-gifted love and affection which she bears in her heart for her kids.

Cecelia was a quiet shy type high school classmate of mine but active during class recitation. She is now working in Cebu. Aren Margaret is the name of her cute daughter.

Mother is a character not a title, so we salute every mother here today and are also very thankful to mothers for their persistent adore and eagerness in taking care of their kids. Personally, I thank my mother for that.

I am also proud of my 3 high school classmates and friends who are mothers now. And most especially to the mother of Jesus Christ who is celebrating her birthday today. I am so thankful for giving us Jesus Christ her only son. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA MARY!

The Mistake: Q & A Portion

Am sure you already knew what happened to Lauren Caitlin Upton- Miss South Carolina Teen USA 2007 during the interview portion. Maybe I am the last one to post about it but lemme share the lesson I learned from it. I first read the post about it sa blog ni reJOICE with matching video dated September 1, 2007. I can't understand her answer clearly. However, Poli is so nice to share the transcript and he even posted it sa video file niya sa multiply.

"I, personally, believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps. And, uh, I believe that our education like, such as, in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere, like, such as. Being the true Hari, Mark Xander shared his real view regarding the mental block tragedy during beauty pageant's Q&A. And I agreed with him since I admired him for being optimistic and competitive but a down to earth celebrity.

Speaking of Q&A portion, I want to share this interview. STEVE told me and it happened during the Hasa pageant of U.P. Don't take it seriously.

Question: What is the biggest problem that our country is facing nowadays?

Answer: The biggest problem that the Philippines is facing nowadays is that Filipinos are horny. Because being horny leads to overpopulation, overpopulation leads to unemployment, and unemployment leads to poverty. So all I can say is stop being a maniac.

I planned to watch License to Wed. I invited my holy friend because she will be married soon. It will be my treat for her. I told my kikay friend and my close friend to join us. I invited one of our friend, the commentator but real friend Margie. Sorry for us because she was busy huh.

My holy friend, MARIGOLD. She taught me that real friends help each other anytime.

My kikay friend, IMEE. She taught me that life is so short to have fun.

My close friend, STEVE. He taught me the value of money, friendship and family.

We watched the movie last saturday afternoon after office hours. My close friend was not able to join us because he accompanied their company guests. They went in Guimaras Island to hop.

Gold was texting to entertain herself while waiting the food.

Ito si Imee kung kumain. "I told you to tell me if u take a picture so that I'll show my sweetest smile on cam."

Gold is always proper.


We were in silent mode. Obviously we're watching the movie.

The next day, Steve went home and I accompanied him. I'll meet his family for the third time. I brought a pasalubong for them- Ube Hopia.

I am so happy that in just a short time I showed appreciation. I was able to share happiness with friends and had time to appreciate the creation of God. Indeed, we are blessed because God wants us to share His blessings!
